The new policy extension is designed to cover physicians who serve as expert witnesses in legal cases — a growing area of exposure often left unaddressed by traditional coverage.
“Physicians are often asked to contribute to the legal process as expert witnesses, which extends their expertise beyond clinical settings and opens them up to potential risk,” said Braden Davis, co-founder and chief insurance officer at Indigo. “Our new coverage ensures physicians can meet this request with confidence, knowing they have protection to help in these unique situations.”
The policy covers:

- Deposition support
- Protection from claims of professional negligence or misrepresentation tied to expert witness work
Indigo’s platform uses artificial intelligence to tailor pricing and coverage based on a physician’s individual risk profile, offering efficient quoting and minimal paperwork. Policies can be bound without an application or prior loss runs — part of Indigo’s mission to simplify medical liability insurance.
